My love for art started from reading manga and immersing myself in the stories of One Piece, Berserk, and Yu Yu Hakusho.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2010 and taking an oil painting class, I started the quest to capture the California light in my canvas. Now, from my studio in Larchmont Village, I work primarily in oils, chasing the same fleeting feelings of adventure I got from reading One Piece.

The pieces that I make are a reflection of the feelings I want to deliver in this world: freedom, curiousity, excitement. These are the emotions that soar in my head as I see stupendous natural landscapes.
Every now and then I deviate and post different tones and styles in an attempt to visualize how I feel. Ultimately, art is a way for me to reflect on my lived experiences and to create something that I can't put into words.

Every piece begins with observation. I spend hours in the outdoors hiking and soaking in marvelous views. I study light as it moves across landscapes. These moments of stillness inform the emotional core of each painting.
I work on linen and wood canvases. I work intuitively, layering color with confidence while maintaining harmony throughout the piece.

The final stages are where magic and mania happens. I constantly refine details and obsess over the smalest brushstrokes searching for perfection before giving into exhaustion and settling into the finished piece.
There's a strong sense of contentment in figuring out when enough is enough to share my message.
